This is a straight-to-the-point bowhunting competition built to set the standard for serious hunters who appreciate the higher level of skill, discipline, and preparation it takes to be successful in the deer woods.

Team Format

  • Each team consists of 3 members

    • All team members must be 18 years of age or older

  • Team members compete together for the entire season

  • Whitetail champion participants can only compete on one team per state

  • State championship prizes are split evenly amongst the winners for that specific state

  • In the rare scenario in which more than one team wins the state championship, the prize is split evenly amongst all winning teams

Prizes & Scoring

  • The prize structure is simple and state-based.

  • All teams compete within their registered state throughout the season.

  • At the end of the competition, an official scoring event will be held for each state’s competition. Only bucks officially scored at the scoring event shall be considered for the title of Whitetail Champion.

  • The highest cumulative scoring team for each state at the official scoring event shall be considered for the title of Whitetail Champion for that state.

  • Only bucks officially scored at the official event accompanied by the hunter are eligible for official entry.

Harvest Requirements

  • All entries must be taken with a bow(compound or traditional). This standard is intentional—it ensures that every entry reflects true fair-chase bowhunting ability.

  • Only free-range whitetail deer are eligible

  • No penned deer or high-fence harvests are permitted. Any deer that has lived in captivity in its lifetime is a void entry

  • All entries must follow state and local hunting regulations. Any entry that has been confiscated or is under current investigation by the state in which it was harvested may be void from entry. Whitetail Champion reserves the right to evaluate each scenario on a case by case basis and delay awarding the prize if necessary.

Entry Submission

  • All submissions will be entered digitally via the submission link on our website whitetailchampion.com

  • All entries shall be recovered within 48 hours

  • All entries must be submitted within 10 days of harvest

  • One photo of the buck and bow together must be submitted during the digital entry

  • An unofficial score is required for each entry. All official scoring will occur at the Whitetail Champion scoring event for each state.

  • Teams may upgrade a previously submitted buck at any point during the season by submitting a higher-scoring buck harvested by an eligible team member. The higher-scoring buck will replace the lower-scoring buck in the team's total score. Once replaced, the original buck will no longer count toward the team's standings. All upgraded entries must meet the same verification, documentation, and eligibility requirements as any other submission.
